12th Class Science Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

The 12th class science pairing scheme of the Punjab Board maps the Part-II theory paper of each subject: the MCQs, the groups of short questions, the pairs of chapters in the long questions and how many questions you choose to attempt. Here you will find Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science explained for students of the Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur boards.

The three life and physical science papers share one layout, which is why a single habit of study works for all of them: 17 marks of MCQs, 44 marks of short answers and 24 marks of long answers. Mathematics and Computer Science follow their own layouts, and each has a page of its own for the details.

Which papers you prepare, group by group

Part-II science students choose one of three groups, and the pairing scheme you need depends on it. In pre-medical you prepare Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Pre-engineering replaces Biology with Mathematics. In ICS you prepare Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. For a wider view of the year, see the FSc page and the ICS page.

Chemistry and Biology both pair chapters that are far apart in the book, so students of those subjects gain the most from reading the chapter tables. Physics pairs neighbouring chapters, mostly. Maths and Computer Science depend more on choice inside question sets than on pairs, which makes timing the skill that counts.

Using the scheme to plan Part-II preparation

  1. Copy the chapter pairs. Put the pairs of every subject you study on a single sheet beside your desk.
  2. Divide the months by pair or block. Finish a pair, revise the previous one, and only then open the next.
  3. Count the MCQs per chapter. The subject tables show which chapters carry two, and those deserve a second reading.
  4. Practise the choice rules. Learn to read a short-question set and decide quickly which parts to answer.
  5. Add the entry test early. Pre-medical students can look at MDCAT, and pre-engineering students at ECAT, because the same chapters return there.

Common mistakes, and where to check your notices

  • Trusting a scheme picture shared in a group chat without comparing it with the notice of your board.
  • Treating the chapters outside the long-question pairs as optional.
  • Leaving the MCQs for the last week, although they open every paper.
  • Never practising a complete paper inside the time limit.

Each board issues its own notices, and they settle any difference. The official sites of BISE Lahore and BISE Gujranwala, as well as your own board, carry them. To practise, use the 12th class science guess paper and the FSc study plan.

Frequently asked questions

What does the 12th class science pairing scheme show?

It shows how the Part-II theory paper of each subject is put together: how many MCQs there are, how the short questions are grouped and how many you attempt, and which chapters are joined in the long questions. It is a map of the paper, not a list of questions.

How many theory marks does each 12th class science paper carry?

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are 85 marks each with 17 MCQs. Mathematics is 100 marks with 20 MCQs, and Computer Science is 75 marks with 15 MCQs. Practical exams are held separately. Match these figures with the scheme image above and with the notice of your board.

Do all Punjab boards use the same pairing scheme?

The Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur boards all teach from the same Punjab textbooks, and this page is written for them together. When a board publishes its own notice, that notice decides.

Which subjects belong to which FSc or ICS group?

Pre-medical students study Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Pre-engineering students study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ICS students study Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics.

Can I use the pairing scheme to skip chapters?

It is unsafe. Choices inside the paper let you leave some questions, but every chapter feeds the MCQs, and many chapters feed the short questions. Use the scheme to weigh your time, not to drop whole chapters.

How should I combine the pairing scheme with guess papers and past papers?

Read the pairing scheme to learn the shape of the paper, work through the chapters, then use the guess paper to rehearse the expected and important questions. Finish with timed past papers to test your speed.
