12th Class Computer Science Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

Computer Science is the one Part-II paper where programs are written by hand, and its theory paper is worth 75 marks. Fifteen MCQs come first, then short questions with plenty of choice and long questions that mix theory with program writing. Below, the pattern is set out for candidates of the Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur boards.

The 75-mark Computer Science paper

Theory paper75 marks
MCQs (objective part)15 MCQs, 15 marks
Short questionsThree questions, any 6 of 9 in each (18 answers out of 27)
Long questionsTheory and program-writing questions with choice: one of two, one of two, then two of three

The paper starts with 15 MCQs. In the short part there are three questions, and in each you answer 6 of 9, so 18 short answers are written out of 27. The long part has choices as well: one of two, then another one of two, and finally two of three. The practical is held separately.

How choice works in the Computer Science paper

Most chapters give a single MCQ, chapters 8 and 9 give two each, and chapter 7 gives none. That is 13 chapters with a share of the 15 marks, so only one chapter is left out of the objective part.

The long part is where the paper separates theory from practice. Some long questions are theory and others ask you to write a program, so a student who has only read the book will find the program questions slow.

Because the choices are generous, plan which questions you will answer before you start writing. Reading the paper for two minutes first saves more time than it costs.

A weekly routine for Part-II Computer Science

  1. Learn each chapter in two passes: first the ideas and terms, then a written exercise that uses them.
  2. Write programs on paper every week and trace them line by line, since the exam is handwritten.
  3. Keep a glossary of technical terms and test yourself on one page of it each day.
  4. Practise the short part as a timed set, and decide which three questions in each group you would skip.
  5. Do chapter-wise MCQs for all chapters except number 7, and check yourself on the two chapters that carry two MCQs.

Computer Science errors to avoid

  • Learning programs by heart without knowing what each statement does.
  • Writing code that would not run because of small syntax slips.
  • Neglecting the short questions in favour of the long ones.
  • Skipping chapter 7 completely without checking how it appears elsewhere in the paper.

Frequently asked questions

How many marks is the 12th class Computer Science theory paper?

The theory paper is 75 marks, including 15 MCQs. The practical is held separately.

How many MCQs does each Computer Science chapter carry?

Chapters 8 and 9 carry two each, chapter 7 carries none, and every other chapter carries one. That gives 15 MCQs.

What is the attempt rule for the short questions?

There are three questions and each has nine parts. You answer any 6 of 9 in each, which means 18 answers out of 27.

I study under the Faisalabad board. Is the pattern different for me?

Faisalabad and the other eight Punjab boards use the same textbook, and this page covers all nine. If your board sends a separate notice, that one comes first.

Will the paper ask me to write a program?

The long part contains program-writing questions as well as theory, so practise writing code on paper.

Where can I learn Part-II Computer Science chapter by chapter?

The Creative Taleem app has chapter-wise Computer Science lectures with notes and MCQs, so you can follow the scheme in order.
