What a Part-II guess paper is, and what it is not
In Part-II the syllabus is large and the weeks before the exam are short. A guess paper helps by picking out the definitions, derivations, processes and problem types that past papers return to, so that your last revision is aimed. It does not carry the real questions, and anyone promising them is not being honest.
Use it after you have studied a chapter. If you can answer its listed questions without the book, the chapter is in good shape; if you cannot, you know exactly where to go back.

What to practise in each Part-II subject
Physics
Derivations, numericals with units and short reasoning questions on the ten chapters from electrostatics to nuclear physics. Practise in the chapter pairs the paper uses.
Chemistry
Conversions, preparations, group trends and the short applied chapters at the end of the book. Keep a map of the organic families and test yourself on it.
Biology
Diagrams, processes in order and long answers written under headings. Practise the pairs of chapters in which the long questions are built.
Mathematics
Limits, derivatives, integrals, conics and vectors. This is a solving subject, so attempt each problem before you read a method.
Computer Science
Terms, short answers and programs written by hand. Trace each program on paper to check that you know what it does.
A simple routine for the guess paper
- Choose a block. Take a few related chapters that you have already finished.
- Answer from memory. Write the listed questions on paper without the book open.
- Compare and mark. Check against the textbook and mark every answer that was weak.
- Return after two days. Redo the marked ones, since forgetting and recalling is what builds memory.
- Test yourself on a paper. Once a week, sit a timed past paper in the exam format.

- Believing a source that promises exact questions.

No. The paper can ask anything from the syllabus. Keep working on the textbook, the MCQs and past papers, and treat the guess paper as a way to prioritise.
