11th Class Science Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

The 11th class science pairing scheme of the Punjab Board shows how each first-year paper is built: the theory and practical marks of every subject, the MCQs, the short and long questions and the choice you get in each. This page covers Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science for students of the Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Lahore boards.

What a first-year pairing scheme tells you

In the first year of FSc or ICS, the papers are longer than in matric, and they come with a practical for most science subjects. A pairing scheme gives you the skeleton of each theory paper: the objective part, the short questions, the long questions and the choice you are given in each.

It is not a list of questions. What it does is let you plan your weeks by what the paper actually contains, rather than by habit or by what a friend says is important.

Physics85151768 marks: short questions 44, long questions 24
Chemistry85151768 marks: short questions 44, long questions 24
Biology85151768 marks: short questions 44, long questions 24
Mathematics100none2080 marks of short and long questions
Computer Science75251560 marks: short questions 36, long questions 24

In every subject the long questions are attempted as any three of five. Mathematics is the only science paper with no practical, while Computer Science gives the practical the largest share. Pre-medical and pre-engineering students share Physics and Chemistry, and differ in Biology or Mathematics.

What stands out in each subject

Physics

Twelve chapters feed seventeen MCQs, three sets of 2-mark short parts and five two-part long questions, of which you attempt three. See the Physics pairing scheme.

Chemistry

The new book runs to sixteen chapters, and the short questions come with a clear attempt rule: 8 of 12, 8 of 12 and 6 of 9. See the Chemistry pairing scheme.

Biology

A twelve-chapter book that moves from cells and molecules to the human body systems, with 24 marks of long answers where diagrams matter. See the Biology pairing scheme.

Mathematics

The biggest written part of the five, 80 marks, over fourteen chapters and with no practical to share the load. See the Maths pairing scheme.

Computer Science

A 75-mark paper built on nine chapters, with a 25-mark practical beside it. See the Computer Science pairing scheme.

Turning the scheme into a weekly plan

  1. List your three or four subjects. Write the theory and practical marks of each next to its name.
  2. Split every book into blocks of two or three chapters. Give each block a fixed week.
  3. Put the practical on the calendar. Lab work and the practical file take time that theory revision cannot give back.
  4. Attach an MCQ set to each chapter. The objective part touches every chapter, so no chapter can stay blank.
  5. Write long answers, not only read them. The long questions give you a choice of three from five, so pick your best three on exam day.
  6. Revise with the guess paper. Expected-question lists help you order your revision near the paper.
  7. Sit full papers. One paper per week in the real time limit shows what still needs work.

First-year mistakes that the scheme can prevent

  • Treating FSc Part 1 like matric and starting revision only after the winter break.
  • Giving all the time to one favourite subject while another quietly falls behind.
  • Leaving the practical file and lab skills for the last week.
  • Trusting a pairing scheme picture from a social media post without checking it against your board notice.
  • Learning a list of expected questions and skipping the chapters behind them.

Notices to read next to this scheme

Your board is the final word on its own paper, so check its official notices as well. The websites of BISE Lahore and BISE Gujranwala are good places to start, along with the site of your own board. For help choosing a group, read which FSc group to choose, and for planning your weeks see the FSc Part 1 study plan and the 11th class science guess paper.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 11th class pairing scheme?

It is the plan a board follows when it sets the first-year paper of a subject. It tells you the number of MCQs, how the written marks are shared between short and long questions, how many questions you must attempt, and which chapters are linked in each question.

How many marks does each 11th class science paper carry?

Physics, Chemistry and Biology have an 85-mark theory paper and a separate 15-mark practical. Computer Science has a 75-mark theory paper and a 25-mark practical. Mathematics is a single 100-mark paper with no practical.

Is the first-year pairing scheme the same for every board in Punjab?

Students of Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Lahore all follow the Punjab syllabus and textbooks, and this page is meant for all nine boards. When your own board issues a different notice, that notice decides.

Which science subjects do FSc and ICS students study in the first year?

Pre-medical students study Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Pre-engineering students study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ICS students study Computer Science with Mathematics and, in most cases, Physics.

Does the pairing scheme tell me the exact questions?

No. It shows the shape of the paper, never the questions. Use it to divide your preparation time and then practise questions from every chapter.

Why does this page not list the chapter groups of each question?

The books were changed, and the chapter groupings that circulate online still follow the older chapter numbers. The groupings are best read from the scheme image of your own board.
