11th Class Maths Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

First-year Maths is a full 100-mark paper with no practical, and it is the paper where steady daily solving counts for the most. This page explains the pattern for students of the Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan boards.

The 100-mark Maths paper in brief

Total marks100 marks, all theory (no practical)
Objective part20 MCQs, 20 marks
Written part80 marks
Short questionsParts of 2 marks each, arranged in sets with a choice in each set
Long questionsAttempt any 3 of 5

The paper has 20 MCQs for 20 marks and an 80-mark written part. In the written part the short questions are parts of 2 marks, set out in sets where you may choose which parts to answer, and the long questions are attempted as any 3 of 5. The exact count of parts in each short set and the marks of a single long question are shown on the scheme image of your board, so read them there.

What the Maths pattern means for your practice

Mathematics has no practical, so all 100 marks are decided in one paper. That makes this the one first-year subject where the written part, at 80 marks, is larger than in any other science paper.

The long questions let you attempt three out of five. Use this: before you write anything in the hall, scan all five and pick the three where you can finish cleanly.

The book opens with Complex Numbers and Functions and Graphs, which supply the language for almost everything after them. A weak start here shows up again in Quadratic Functions and Trigonometry.

Calculus appears for the first time with Limit and Continuity and Differentiation near the end of the book. They carry plenty of practice value, so do not leave them as an afterthought.

A solving routine for fourteen chapters

  1. Solve every exercise question on paper, and mark the ones you could not start so you can return to them.
  2. Keep a formula notebook for each chapter and add only the formulas you forgot in practice.
  3. For trigonometry, practise identities by proving them in both directions, not by copying the textbook proof.
  4. Practise graphs on graph paper with a sharp pencil, and label axes, intercepts and key points.
  5. Time a set of short parts, then a long question, and note how many minutes each takes.
  6. In the last weeks, build mixed sheets with one question each from five different chapters.

Maths errors that cost marks in the first year

  • Reading a solved example instead of covering it and solving it again.
  • Writing only the final answer and skipping the steps.
  • Leaving Calculus and Vectors for the end of the term.
  • Never sitting a whole paper in the real time limit.

Once the pattern is clear, move to the 11th class Maths guess paper, open the Mathematics textbook and plan your weeks with the FSc Part 1 study plan, pre-medical and pre-engineering.

Frequently asked questions

How many marks is the 11th class Maths paper?

It is 100 marks. There are 20 MCQs, and the other 80 marks come from short and long written questions. Mathematics has no practical examination.

How many long questions do I attempt in Maths?

You attempt any three of the five long questions.

Does Rawalpindi board use a separate Maths scheme?

Rawalpindi shares the Punjab syllabus and textbook with the other boards, so this page applies to all nine. When Rawalpindi publishes a notice of its own, that notice decides.

Why does the page not give the marks of one Maths long question?

Published schemes differ on this figure, so it is left out here. The scheme image of your board will show it.

Which groups study Mathematics in the first year?

Pre-engineering students and most ICS students take it. Pre-medical students study Biology instead.

Where can I learn Maths chapters step by step?

The Creative Taleem app has chapter-wise Maths lectures with solved exercises and MCQs, arranged in the order of the book.
