11th Class Computer Science Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

Computer Science is the signature subject of the ICS group, and it is also the only first-year science paper where the practical carries a quarter of the subject. This page explains the 75-mark theory paper and the 25 practical marks for students of the Sargodha, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Sahiwal boards.

The Computer Science theory paper and its practical

Theory paper75 marks
Practical examination25 marks, held separately
Objective part15 MCQs, 15 marks
Written part60 marks
Short questionsThree questions, attempt 6 of 9 parts in each, 2 marks per part (36 marks)
Long questionsAttempt any 3 of 5, 8 marks each (24 marks)

The theory paper is 75 marks: 15 MCQs, three short-question sets of 6 parts out of 9 at 2 marks each (36 marks), and long questions of 8 marks where you attempt any 3 of 5 (24 marks). The practical examination is a separate 25 marks, so Computer Science is split between a written paper and a lab.

Reading the Computer Science scheme with a practical in mind

Because 25 of the 100 marks come from the practical, the scheme image is only half of your preparation. Plan weekly lab time on the same sheet as your theory plan.

The first three chapters, on software development, Python and algorithms, are the base for the rest of the book. Questions about code and logic in later chapters assume you are comfortable with them.

The last four chapters are about technology, law, research skills and enterprise. They are read-and-explain chapters, so the best preparation is writing short answers in your own words.

With any 3 of 5 long questions to attempt, you can choose the two you are least comfortable with and leave them. The MCQs, though, touch every chapter.

A weekly routine that balances theory and code

  1. Write programs by hand for the written paper and type the same programs in the lab for the practical.
  2. For each algorithm, write the steps in plain language, then as a flowchart, then as code.
  3. Trace short programs line by line on paper and write down the value of each variable.
  4. Keep a glossary of terms for the last four chapters and add a one-line example to each.
  5. Practise 6-of-9 sets of short parts under a timer, because the sets are made of many short answers.
  6. Practise chapter MCQs weekly, since 15 marks come from them.

Computer Science errors to avoid

  • Typing programs in the lab but never writing one by hand for the theory paper.
  • Learning code lines without knowing what they do.
  • Treating the last chapters as general knowledge and writing vague answers.
  • Leaving the practical record for the last week.

Once the pattern is clear, move to the 11th class Computer Science guess paper, open the Computer Science textbook and plan your weeks with the ICS study plan, computer science, maths and physics.

Frequently asked questions

How is the 11th class Computer Science theory paper divided?

It is 75 marks: 15 MCQs, short questions worth 36 marks and long questions worth 24 marks. The practical examination is a further 25 marks.

How many short parts do I attempt in Computer Science?

There are three short questions, and in each you attempt 6 parts out of 9. Every part carries 2 marks.

Does BISE Sargodha set the Computer Science paper differently?

Sargodha uses the same Punjab syllabus and textbook as the other eight boards, and this page covers all of them. Should Sargodha publish its own notice, that notice comes first.

Why are two chapter titles missing from the list?

Chapters 4 and 5 are titled differently in different listings of the book, so only their numbers are shown. Check them against your own copy of the book.

Which first-year group studies Computer Science?

It is the core subject of ICS. FSc students study Biology or Mathematics in its place.

Can I follow the nine Computer Science chapters in the app?

The Creative Taleem app has chapter-wise Computer Science lectures with quizzes and notes, in the order of the book.
