How to think about a Physics guess paper
A good Physics guess paper is short and specific: definitions to learn, a few derivations to write out and numericals to solve. It cannot tell you the exact paper, so treat it as a checklist of what you should be able to do without help.
The Physics paper is built from three chapter groups, so the best order is to learn a group, practise its guess questions and then move on. Open the 9th class Physics pairing scheme.
The four kinds of Physics questions to practise
- Definitions with the unit of the quantity.
- Why-and-how questions that need a short, reasoned answer.
- Derivations you can write step by step from the textbook.
- Numericals that use two formulas together.

A working routine for the Physics guess paper
- Pick one chapter group and read its chapters again, only the parts that the guess questions point to.
- Write the definitions and derivations of the group on paper without the book.
- Solve every numerical of the group on paper, and underline the step where you hesitated.
- Check each answer with the textbook and mark the wrong ones in red.
- Return to the red ones after three days and solve them again.
Physics habits for the last weeks
- Say each formula aloud with its unit before you start a numerical.
- Redraw force and ray-style diagrams from memory, then compare.
- Time a long question: about the length of a single exam question, not more.
- Alternate a numerical day with a theory day so that neither goes stale.
- Finish with a mixed set that takes one question from each group.
Physics guess paper mistakes
- Learning a derivation line by line without knowing why each step follows.
- Solving numericals only in the order of the book.
- Counting a numerical as solved when the unit is missing.
- Taking a guess question as a promise instead of a practice target.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Physics guess paper useful for BISE Lahore students only?
No. It is written for students of all nine Punjab boards, because they follow the same Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board syllabus. Use your own board notice if it differs.
How should I split Physics guess questions between theory and numericals?
Alternate them. Spend one session on definitions and derivations and the next on numericals, and finish each week with a mixed set.
Should I memorise the Physics derivations in the guess paper?
Learn the logic of each step first. If you understand why a step follows, you can write it again even when the question is worded differently.
How early should I start using the Physics guess paper?
Start after you have finished a chapter group, not before. A guess paper is revision, so it works best on chapters you already know.
Can I use the guess paper without reading the textbook?
No. The guess paper points to what matters, but the exact wording of definitions and derivations has to come from the textbook.
Is the guess paper based on the new Physics syllabus?
Yes, it follows the new Punjab Board syllabus and the current textbook. Where a chapter has changed from the earlier book, questions are chosen from the new one.
