How to read the Computer Science scheme

Read the scheme image in this order: first the number of MCQs, then how the written part is split between short and long questions, and last which chapters feed each question.

The written part is four times the size of the MCQ part, so most of your marks depend on how well you can explain and apply, not only on recalling terms.

If you are unsure whether to study Computer Science or Biology, remember that the science group takes only one of them. Prepare the subject you have chosen and give it your full routine.

A weekly routine for Computer Science

  1. Keep short notes for every chapter and read them again each weekend.
  2. Write programs and logic steps on paper, because the exam is written, not typed.
  3. Learn technical terms exactly, and for each term write one sentence that uses it.
  4. Practise chapter-wise MCQs, since ten marks come from them.
  5. Use the scheme image to plan your weeks, and tick off each chapter after you have answered its questions on paper.

Computer Science mistakes to avoid

  • Learning only theory and never writing a program by hand.
  • Memorising code without knowing what each line does.
  • Ignoring the MCQs, which carry ten marks.
  • Preparing both Biology and Computer Science for the same paper.
