Matching the scheme to a book of eight chapters
Read the scheme image in three steps: the number of MCQs, then the split of the written part, and finally the chapters named under each written question.
The written part is four times the size of the MCQ part, so explaining and applying matters far more than recalling terms. Practise saying what a program or a system does, not only naming it.
The book has two practical halves. Chapters 3 and 4 are about writing Python and are best learnt by tracing code on paper, whereas the chapters on AI and digital business reward clear definitions and short, organised points.
How to spend a week on the eight chapters
- Write a short note for each chapter on one page, and re-read the eight notes every weekend.
- For the Python chapters, trace small programs by hand and write what each variable holds after every line.
- For the operating system chapters, learn the services and maintenance steps as numbered lists.
- Make a glossary of terms from the AI, data and entrepreneurship chapters with one example for each.
- Practise the MCQs of every chapter, because ten marks come from them.
Computer Science slips to avoid
- Reading the Python chapters but never writing code on paper.
- Giving a one-line answer where the question needs points.
- Ignoring the last chapter because it feels non-technical.
- Splitting your time between Biology and Computer Science, when only one is on your subject list.
