10th Class Chemistry Pairing Scheme 2027 Punjab Board

Chemistry in the 10th class has thirteen chapters, numbered 14 to 26, and the second half of the book is almost entirely organic chemistry. Here is how the 60-mark paper is built and how to prepare for it, written for students of the Sahiwal, Sargodha, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan boards.

What the 60-mark Chemistry paper contains

Total marks60
MCQs (objective part)12 MCQs, 12 marks
Written part48 marks of short and long questions
Short and long questionsThe attempt rules and the split of the 48 marks are shown on the scheme image

Twelve marks come from MCQs. The other 48 marks are written, in short and long questions. How the 48 marks are divided, how many parts you attempt and which chapters feed which question are all printed on the scheme image, so open it and copy the attempt rules into your notes before you plan the weeks.

Thirteen chapters, numbered 14 to 26

The book numbers its chapters from 14, which is why the list below runs from 14 to 26. Keep these numbers beside the scheme image.

  1. States of Matter and Phase Changes
  2. Stoichiometry
  3. Electrochemistry
  4. Reaction Kinetics
  5. Salts
  6. Nitrogen and Sulphur
  7. Water
  8. Organic Chemistry
  9. Hydrocarbons
  10. Monohydroxy Alkanes or Alcohols
  11. Carboxylic Acids
  12. Biochemistry
  13. Polymers

Reading the Chemistry scheme next to the book

The first part of the book works with ideas of matter, calculation and reaction, and the second part moves into organic compounds, from hydrocarbons through alcohols and acids to biochemistry and polymers. Because organic chapters build on one another, their order matters.

Hydrocarbons sit before the alcohols and acids that are derived from them, so reading the later chapters first leaves the reactions without a base.

The scheme image also shows how the MCQs are spread over the chapters. Compare it with your own revision list, so that no chapter stays without at least one MCQ practised.

A chapter routine for Chemistry

  1. Make two lists: one of calculation chapters, with their formulas and worked steps, and one of descriptive chapters, with definitions and reactions.
  2. For the organic chapters, keep a table of every functional group with its general formula and one example.
  3. Write balanced equations on paper with the conditions above the arrow, and rewrite them from memory at the weekend.
  4. Practise stoichiometry numericals daily in small amounts, since speed comes only from repetition.
  5. Finish each chapter with a short set of MCQs, and put the wrong ones on a separate page.

Chemistry errors that repeat every year

  • Giving a reaction without its conditions.
  • Memorising names of organic compounds without drawing their structures.
  • Leaving Polymers and Biochemistry for the last night because they sit at the end of the book.
  • Copying the moles formula from a solved example without knowing which quantity each symbol stands for.

Once the pattern is clear, practise with the 10th class Chemistry guess paper, and learn the lectures in Chemistry online.

Frequently asked questions

How many marks is the 10th class Chemistry paper?

The paper is 60 marks, of which 12 are MCQs and 48 are written questions. Check the scheme image for how the written marks are divided.

How many chapters does the Chemistry book have, and where do they start?

There are thirteen chapters, numbered 14 to 26, beginning with States of Matter and Phase Changes and ending with Polymers.

I am a BISE Sahiwal student. Is my Chemistry pattern different?

Sahiwal students follow the same Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board syllabus as the other boards, and this page is meant for all nine. If Sahiwal issues its own notice, follow that notice.

Are organic chapters harder to score in?

They reward regular practice. Draw structures and write equations on paper each week, and the chapters become routine instead of heavy.

Will this scheme tell me which equations come in the paper?

No. It shows how the paper is organised, not its questions. Prepare every reaction of a chapter, not a short list.

Where can I study Chemistry chapter by chapter?

The Creative Taleem app has chapter-wise Chemistry lectures with quizzes and flashcards, so you can follow the book in the order of the scheme.
